Lesson6 定冠词 the 的用法

定冠词 the 有“这个、那个”的意思，特指某些人或者某些事物，以便与其他事物或者人区分开来，但其指示性较弱。接下来我们一起来看一下，定冠词的用法有哪些。

1. 特指某（些）人或某（些）物

☆ The movie you saw last night is the best of this year.

你昨晚看的那部电影是年度最佳。

（特指“昨晚看的那部”）

☆ The girl in white is my best friend.

那个穿白色衣服的女孩是我最好的朋友。

（特指“穿白色衣服的”）

2. 用于上文中提到的人或物

☆ There is a restaurant at the corner of the street. The restaurant is my favourite.

这条街的拐角处有一家餐厅。这家餐厅是我的最爱。

（restaurant 第一次出现时用不定冠词 a，再次出现时用定冠词 the）

3. 用于独一无二的事物前

the sun 太阳

the earth 地球

the moon 月亮

the Summer Palace 颐和园

☆ The earth goes around the sun.

地球绕着太阳转。

☆ The Summer Palace is a very beautiful park.

颐和园是一个很美的公园。

4. 演奏的西洋乐器前

play the violin 拉小提琴

play the piano 弹钢琴

比较：

play erhu 拉二胡 play pipa 弹琵琶

（中国乐器前不加冠词）

5. 用在形容词前表示一类人

the poor = the poor people 穷人

the young = the young people 年轻人

the blind = the blind people 盲人

the rich = the rich people 有钱人

因为表示一类人，所以谓语动词用复数。

☆ The poor don’t have enough food. 穷人没有足够的食物。

6. 用在姓氏的复数名词前表示一家人

☆ The Smiths had a big party in their house last night.

史密斯一家昨晚在家办了一个盛大的派对。

☆ The Greens like going to the theater at the weekend.

格林一家喜欢周末去剧院。

7. 用在序数词、形容词最高级前

☆ Lisa is the first person I met this morning.

丽萨是我今早遇到的第一个人。

☆ She is the smartest girl in the class.

她是班上最聪明的女生。

8. 用于某些专有名词

（1）用于江海湖河、岛屿、山脉、沙漠等名词前

the Yellow River 黄河

the Pacific Ocean 太平洋

the English Channel 英吉利海峡

（2）用于机关、团体、报刊等专有名词前

the People’s Daily《人民日报》the United States 美国

the United Nations 联合国

9. 用于中国传统节日的名词前

the Spring Festival 春节

the Mid-Autumn Festival 中秋节
